When Difference Becomes a Good Thing

I came from a family which consisted of seven members. Two of which are parents and five are children. This family of mine live in Bayugan City of where we chose to live like normal families and by normal, I mean that normally noisy and pretty much crazy. It may be that way but it sure is what made living with my family fun.
With three sisters and one brother, I have accepted the fact that it is definitely hard to get the attention of my parents because we were too many. I have also accepted that among the five of us, I was unfortunately different when it comes academically. They had honours and I did not have any. To sum it all up, I was just different.
I appreciate this difference though. Why? Because this difference made my parents put all their attention on me. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t do it on purpose just to get them to notice me.
No one would like to stay at the bottom in their whole life, right? Maybe, that is the reason why I started to get my path right when I was in high school. I did my assignments and stuff but of course, I still was not smart enough to top my siblings. So, what I did was just become different from them. They were all in Engineering and Science Education Program while I was in Special Program for Journalism. I entered Division and Regional School Press Conferences, Feature Writing (Individual) in 2013 and Collaborative Desktop Publishing on 2014. In 2015, I joined the National Festival of Talents in Makati City and there, I have finally said to myself that I have achieved. I bagged two awards in NFOT for TV Broadcasting, second place for Best Infomercial and Third for Best Script since I was our team’s Infomercialist and Scriptwriter.
My name is Diana Radaza Joson and I love my difference. Sometimes, one does not have to be everybody else because one could actually become somebody else.
